Beyoncé has picked up the most nominations ahead of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, with Eminem and Iggy Azalea on her tail with seven nods.
The rapper is up for Best Hip-Hop, Best Male and Best Collaboration (with Rihanna on “The Monster”), while the “Fancy” singer is shortlisted for Video of the Year, Best Female and Best Pop.
Should they triumph on the night, Beyoncé and Eminem might hit second place in the most VMA wins of all-time list, with 12 and 11 trophies under their respective belts to date.
Madonna holds the record with 20 wins throughout her career, while Lady Gaga and Peter Gabriel have 13 each.
Serial twerker Miley Cyrus has also made the cut in multiple categories, with Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, Jay Z, Katy Perry, Lorde, Sam Smith, Avicii and Pitbull all in with a shot at winning more than one gong.
Fans can vote online for some winners from today on vma.mtv.com. There is a new socially-voted category, Best Lyric Video, but those nominees are yet to be announced.
The annual ceremony is set to take place at the Forum in Inglewood, California on 24 August, with Usher, 5 Seconds of Summer, Ariana Grande booked to perform.
