J. Cole recently caused some commotion after some lyrics in his song “Fire Squad” mentioned Eminem. Many people thought that J. Cole was dissing Eminem on the track but he cleared the air during his interview with Angie Martinez on Power 105.1.
“People gotta know, Its silly how big of an Eminem fan I am,” Cole said. “When I had the song “Let Nas Down” and I had the raps hanging up on my wall, he wasn’t the only one. It was a very select, top notch people that I worshiped and Eminem was literally at the top of that list. My first song was literally an Eminem bite. If you thinking I’m dissing Eminem, than I know you just read the headline, or you’re listening to the song with the headline in mind.”
“That headline that you saw, It’s not the truth. It’s a perspective that someone took and tried to give you the most enticing headline. Why? So they can make money, the 29-year-old artist said. “No disrespect, this whole system is not set up to bring truth. It’s not set up to bring the real news. The news isn’t set up to inform you. It’s set up to make money.
